We are a married photography duo that leads the team at Artisan. Sheri is a graphic designer, with a unique and creative perspective, and Jordan is a barber and musician with a knack for finding interesting moments. As photographers and storytellers, our goal is to capture images of your wedding day that are emotive, heartfelt, and genuinely you. We want it to feel like someone who knows you – and cares about you – shot your wedding day.

Our focus isn’t on stiff poses, instead, our team works to capture the authentic moments, the ones that are true to you. It’s the difference between photos that show what you look like, and photography that shows who you are. We value the big moments – the exchange of vows, the first dance, the cake cutting – but we’re constantly scanning the room for the little ones, because we know that the little moments are some of the most meaningful ones.

You’ve probably seen the words editorial, candid, documentary, and cinematic over and over again when looking at wedding photography. Our usual style is a mix of all four. We pose and curate the scene when the time is right, stand back when the moment speaks for itself, capture details in sharp focus and emotions with a filmmaker’s aesthetic. In our experience, it’s not the label that matters, it’s the eye for the story.

There’s nothing stock or mass-produced about Artisan’s approach or work – we book a limited number of weddings per year so that we can give you our full attention, inspired creativity, and timely turnarounds on your final photos and video.

Brenton is a friendly, approachable and zesty guy from Newcastle who loves to get creative. He is an experienced photographer with many years of photographing weddings across a wide range of settings and celebrations.

Having spent much of his career photographing weddings as an associate, Brenton is deeply familiar with the rhythm, structure, and expectations of a wedding day. He understands how to work seamlessly alongside other creatives, anticipate moments before they unfold, and adapt effortlessly as the day evolves.

Your wedding day is about you, not us

Whether your personal style is elegant sophistication, countryside casual, or rule-breaking and wildly creative, our job is to portray the essence of who you are as a couple.

We gently guide you through the day, stepping in and pulling back: taking you aside for a photo when the light and setting are just right, but most of the time, moving quietly among your guests, looking for the moments that say something meaningful about you, your people, and this day. In our experience, these are the photos couples value most – the ones no shot list can predict.

Our team does its homework before we arrive: we know your vision, your style, and the people who are important to you. During one of our pre-wedding chats, we complete a planning questionnaire that helps us get to know you better. Then, two to four weeks before the event, we walk through your wedding day with you so that we arrive with a detailed shot list that leaves plenty of room to capture unexpected moments as the day unfolds.

1. We understand you

We get to know people more than just their names. We look at how they interact, their humour, quirks and personalities. Whether they're chaotic, quiet, sentimental, goofy, elegant, or anything in between. Do they care about the dance floor more than the details, or are they meticulous and intentional? We observe the history between people, friends, and families so we can understand where our attention would be most valuable.

2. We notice you

Once we understand people, we know what to look for. If they're sarcastic, we’re waiting for the eye rolls. If they're affectionate, we’re watching for the little touches. If they're stoic, we’re waiting for the little smiles. If they're party people, we’re chasing the energy. More than just capturing “a wedding” as it unfolds, we make your story look as beautiful, distinctive, and intentional as it felt to live it. Our goal is to achieve more than beautiful photographs, it's to create images that feel deeply, authentically yours.
